Parent Workshop: Foundation Skills for Reading and Spelling

Dear Parents/Carers,

A crucial factor in your child’s reading and spelling success is their oral language. At the beginning stages of learning to both read and spell it is vital that children are able to ‘tune in’ to the sound structure of our spoken language.

The Fremantle Language Development Centre ensures the students are provided with multiple opportunities to practise their sound awareness skills. However, parental support and consolidation at home are critical to the success of the programme so please come along and learn how you can help.

The workshop session will be held at Caralee Community School on:

Date:  Wednesday 23rd May, 2018

Time:  6:30pm – 7:30pm

Venue:  Fremantle LDC Beeliar site (Beeliar PS)
86 The Grange, Beeliar

The Fremantle Language Development Centre P&C meeting will run from 7:30pm – 8:30pm at the Beeliar site, following this parent talk.

I look forward to seeing you there,

Rachael Bongiascia
Speech Pathologist

Event News: Mother’s Day Breakfast

We hope all our Mothers had a lovely Mother’s Day on Sunday.

It was lovely to see some of the mums at our Kindy / PrePrimary Mother’s Day Breakfast last week. The students had a lovely time sharing this quality time with their mothers and grandmothers. Here are a few pictures from the morning.

Curriculum News: Science Day

Last Friday all the students from Fremantle LDC came together from all our sites to share in a fun-filled Science Day at our Willagee site. It was a great day where all students were highly engaged and excited. A huge thank you to our Science Team and to all staff for all their work in organising such a wonderful learning experience for our students. Here are some pictures from the day.
