Beeliar News: Term 4 Updates

Condolences for Mrs O’Donovan and Mrs Rick

We would like to share with you the sad news that Mrs O’Donovan and Mrs Rick’s father passed away over the weekend.  On behalf of the Fremantle LDC Community we pass on our love and condolences to Louise and Tracey.

NAIDOC Celebrations

This Thursday 5th November we will be marking the celebration of NAIDOC week for 2020.  The students will be involved in a variety of different activities and will welcome some special guests to the school who will teach them more about our Beeliar Boodja. If you would like to attend our NAIDOC opening assembly it will occur in the Possum Glade Bush Track area from 9.00am on Thursday.

The children will participate in fun activities throughout the day including art projects, building a mia-mia, cooking damper, tasting lemon myrtle cookies and kangaroo stew and a special Story Telling with Mr Neville Collard (“Pop Neville”).

Students are invited to wear red, yellow or black for the day.

You may have already noticed that we are adding a new feature to the school in the form of a river.  Some amazing Beeliar PS teachers have made a start on this “Beelya” (meaning river) and it symbolises the importance of the waterways to the traditional owners of this land.  It is a work in progress and we will celebrate this new and vibrant addition to the school when it is complete.
