On Tuesday 31st July, Fremantle Language Development Centre held a whole school cross curricular cultural day at our Willagee site. The day began with all children from Bull Creek, Beeliar and Willagee enjoying a spectacular dance performance and workshop performed by indigenous students from the Moorditj Mob of Wesley College. Some students were selected from the audience to have a go at dancing and playing the didgeridoo.
The students later moved to year group rotations with Aboriginal games, musical instruments and dancing, Aboriginal legend and bark painting activities. The fun filled day enabled the school to incorporate Aboriginal histories, culture and languages into learning activities.
As well as learning more about Aboriginal culture, the children from our three campuses enjoyed catching up with each other again.
