On Monday 25th November, Beeliar Year 3 students combined with Willagee and Bull Creek Year 3 children to attend the Big Day Out. All of the Beeliar students arrived at school very excited and ready to go. After collecting our friends from Bull Creek and Caralee Schools, we were on our way to Fremantle.
Our day started with eating morning tea and a play at the Esplanade Park in Fremantle.
We then walked to Cicerello’s where we were met by Craig who was hosting our tour. The students then participated in an Aqua Tour which included touching and learning about live sea creatures such as a starfish, sea cucumber and lobster. Most children were very brave and touched a Port Jackson Shark.
After this, we walked across the road to Bather’s Beach where the children built sandcastles and decorated them with the treasures they had collected while they were beach-combing. Then it was back to Cicerellos for a delicious lunch of fish and chips before setting off to Melville Super Bowl.
Miss Claessen and I were very impressed with the students’ ‘Stand Tall’ behaviour, bowling ability and the ease with which they were able to form friendships with children from the other sites. Finally, it was time to board the bus for the return journey back to our schools with everyone feeling that it had been a wonderful and exciting Big Day Out.
