This weeks’ highlights include:
Children’s First Aid
What would you do if you were walking through some long grass at the park and your child was bitten by a snake?
What if you turned your back for a moment and your toddler pulled a whole saucepan of boiling water down on themselves?
What if they were ‘helping’ you do some cleaning, and wanted a taste of the pretty blue Windex?
Peas shoved up noses, nasty ticks between little toes, those awful times when they’re coughing and it seems like they can’t breathe – we’ve all had moments as parents when we realise we’re looking at a possible medical emergency and we have NO IDEA what to do!
We’re not out to scare anyone, and actually, we reckon we all deserve a round of applause for keeping our kids alive as long as we have! But, Sarah Hunstead, Paediatric Emergency Nurse and Founder of CPR Kids has seen what happens when those possible emergencies become real emergencies, and she doesn’t want anyone to go through that.
So, what can we do?
Well, as always, the ParentTV answer is to arm ourselves with knowledge and skills. Sarah has made a whole set of fantastic, informative and practical videos to tell us what to do when those possibilities present, with some extra tips on how we could prevent them. Imagine knowing how to save your child’s life. Could there be anything more empowering?
Let the learning begin!
