Read-a-thon & Book Week

The Beeliar Primary School P&C Readathon begins on Monday!!!

Reading logs to record books will be coming home this Friday. Multimodal texts such as comics, picture books, newspapers, e-books and online stories can all be recorded in your child’s reading log and count towards your child’s total number of books read.

Sponsors may like to donate an amount per book read, or a set amount. For every 5 books your child reads, they go in the draw to win prizes such as Scholastic prizes and Arc passes.

If you have any preloved books in good condition that you’d like to donate to our, please send them to school with your child this week. Student Councillors will be reselling these at the ‘Brilliant Bookstore’ each lunch time from Monday 23 until Friday 27. Prices of books are at a very discounted rate ranging from .20c – $2.00.

Thank you to everyone who purchased books at our recent Bookfair. Over $6000 was made giving our school a commission of nearly $2000 that we can now use to purchase library books and Literacy resources.

Remember! Our book character dress up parade is this Monday 23 August!

Protecting children in their digital worlds is an ever-evolving task for Australian families. Now more than ever parents are looking for guidance in how to manage screen time and navigate the world of games and social media.

We are therefore pleased to help our parent community by offering a crucial and engaging education session with ySafe, Australia’s leading provider of cyber safety education. This practical, strategy-rich session will cover the most important points that all families need to know about online safety, covering key information about social media and gaming, screen time recommendations and step-by-step instructions on how to set up a cyber safe home for kids of all ages.
