It is hard to believe we are nearly at the end of 2020. What a year! Despite the challenges we faced, it has been wonderful for our students, families and staff to work together to make the best of this situation and ensure our students’ safety, building of resilience and continuity of learning. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement as we worked together to provide the best learning opportunities for your children.
Farewell to our Leavers
Last week it was lovely to see so many families and friends come together at our Leavers Assembly to celebrate, congratulate and say farewell to our students who are leaving us to return to their local mainstream school. It was a great opportunity for us all to look back and reflect on the wonderful progress our students have made in the short time they have been with us. Here are some lovely photos of our leavers on their special days.
We are all very proud of the achievements our students have made. They have demonstrated their commitment to working hard and persevering when they are faced with challenges. We say goodbye with a strong sense of pride for their achievements. I know each and every one of these students have shown our school virtues of friendliness, kindness and respect to staff and their peers but most importantly, they have shown the virtues of courage and determination to persevere when they are faced with challenges. These are all wonderful qualities that will support them in their move to their new schools. We wish them all the very best for the next stage in their education journey.
Fremantle LDC Strategic Direction
2020 has been another busy year as we came to the end of our Business Plan for 2018-2020. I would like to thank and acknowledge the Chair of our School Board Jo Wiese and all the board members who have worked very hard this year to support our review of school processes and progress towards our business plan targets. We are now very excited to be venturing into our new Business Plan for 2021-2023. This is currently being developed and more information will come at the start of next year. I would like to thank all staff in their tireless efforts in working towards our school vision of “Being a school of excellence” and developing our future school priorities.
Thank you to our P&C
I would also like to recognise and thank the dedicated group of parents and community members who have committed their time to being on our P&C. Their support and efforts ensure that our students continue to receive the programs and resources they need.
School Development Days
Staff return on Thursday 28th January for two School Development Days prior to the students returning. We look forward to the students returning on Monday 1st February 2021. This will be the beginning of our new start times across all 3 sites of 8.40am to 2.55pm.
I hope everyone has a happy, safe and joyful Christmas break and into the New Year. We look forward to the students returning for an amazing 2021 and welcoming our new families to our school.
Kind regards
Vivienne Doig
