On Wednesday 26th May the Fremantle LDC students joined with Beeliar PS students to acknowledge Sorry Day. The day started early with a delicious breakfast. Marie Lynden, Beeliar PS Aboriginal & Islander Education Officer came forward to deliver the ‘Welcome to Country’.
Mr David Scaife, WA Labor Candidate for Cockburn attended and spoke about the importance of Sorry Day. The Beeliar Choir sang ‘Wanjoo’, a Noongar Welcome Song. Later in the day all four Fremantle LDC classes were invited to attach a piece of plastic coloured ribbon on to the Early Childhood Education fence to represent the colours of the Aboriginal flag.
The children in TA22 have been exploring different places in our community. Last week they opened an airport in their classroom. They are enjoying playing the roles of a check-in agent, flight attendant, pilot and the passenger.
