The City of Melville School Holiday Program

The City of Melville has launched its school holidays program, which is jam-packed full of creative and cultural activities for children and young people.

Workshops with professional artists, writers and creatives are on offer for children aged five to 15, so there is something for everyone including:

  • Drawing en plein air with artist Ross Potter
  • Crazy Characters with author and illustrator Matty Mitchell
  • Walking Wild poetry walks with poet Dr Nandi Chinna
  • Creative workshops with artist Kaitlyn Elsegood

For an overview, please note the following workshops:

  • Wednesday April 21st Chaos to Cooperation: how Parenting by Connection can help your family thrive. 9.30am at Palmyra Primary School.
  • Friday 23rd April Circle of Security Parenting 8 week course. 11.30am at Melville Leisurefit. Limited creche available.
  • Wednesday 28th April Cybersafety 6.30pm at Meerilinga Cockburn.
  • Thursday April 29th Chaos to Cooperation: how Parenting by Connection can help your family thrive. 8pm online via Zoom.
  • Wednesday 5th May a visit from Meerilinga Parenting Service with Buster the Fun Bus. 9.30am Location TBC.
  • Monday May 10th Family Fun Time for parents and children. Songs, rhymes, stories and games for tricky times and transitions. 10am at Meerilinga Cockburn.
  • Thursday May 20th Family Fun Time for parents and children. Songs, rhymes, stories and games for tricky times and transitions. 10am online via Zoom.

Willagee Community Centre will be hosting our regular School Holiday program at the George Humes Park, Archibald St, Willagee. This is due to the closure of the WCC centre for renovations. We are very excited to offer the two following workshops and as numbers are limited we advise that you RSVP quick!

Rainbow Flower Fairy and Pirate Games Chest

Date: Tuesday, 13 April 2021
Time: 10.00 am to 11.00 am (Please arrive 15 min before for registration)
Ages: 5 to 8
Max: 30 Participants

Come and play with Rainbow Flower Fairy and her friend Pirate Pal as they weave massive amounts of magic, mischief and merriment through the art of joy and play.

There will be plenty of games on the adventure including going hunting for tricky treasure, dining with the fairy for Fairy Freeze, What’s the Time Mrs Fairy, Pixie, Pixie, Pirates, Rainbow Twirling and even helping a Fairy Friend fly over the Rainbow Sea (the giant parachute)!

Ricochet Circus Workshop

Ricochet Circus Workshops are fun, interactive and lively fostering an inclusive non-competitive environment. With his big box of circus props and tricks Scooby from Ricochet creates a workshop atmosphere that is entertaining, educational and very engaging. You will get to explore and learn new skills with Hula Hoops, Juggling Balls, Diabolo, Juggling Clubs, Spin Stix, Poi, Juggling Scarfs, Gymnastic Ribbon, Unicycle and more! It is also a scientific fact that you might even increase your brain size.
