Children are ready to be introduced to the skill of running in Kindergarten and mastering the skill by the end of Year 3. The ability to run is the key to many games, sports and everyday activities. It is essential that children are taught the correct technique for running and provided with plenty of opportunities to practice. This is a skill that will be used across a child’s lifetime.
At the Fremantle Language Development Centre, we focus on the fundamental movement of running to coincide with each school’s athletics carnival in term three. Please follow the link below to see a video on learning how to run which was developed by Kid Do in partnership with the University of Western Australia.
These are high quality, decodable readers that support the reading programs we are using in the classroom. They would be a great asset to any household for students from Pre Primary to Year 3.
They are currently accessible at no cost in the Apple App Store until September 13th
