Fremantle LDC P&C Father’s Day Raffle

There have been some queries regarding payment for the Father’s Day Raffle tickets. Whilst the school is going ‘cashless’, the P&C can still collect cash for raffle tickets. You are welcome to send cash in for your raffle tickets and any future P&C fundraising events.

Father’s Day Stall Reminder

Beeliar Primary School P&C will be holding a Father’s Day Stall on 2nd and 3rd September. Choose a gift for your dad or someone special this Father’s Day.  A selection of gifts will be available for $5.00 each. Bring along your money on the day and select an awesome wrapped gift – Kindy & Pre-Primary will attend on ThursdayYears 1-3 will attend on Friday.

Read-A-Thon Reminder

Book Week Parade Photos

Book Week and Readathon

Our Beeliar PS Readathon started on Monday! Be sure to get your school sponsorship forms filled out and let the reading begin! Readathon booklets went home on Friday and they are they are for writing the titles of all the books you read in it. Keep your reading booklet in your reading folder and bring it to school each day so you can record the books you read at school in it.

For every 5 books you read you will receive a raffle ticket. Raffle tickets put you in the draw to win Scholastic vouchers and a $25 gift card. Anyone who raises over $20 goes into the draw to win a family pass to the Cockburn Arc Swimming pool.

We have opened the reading up to multimodal texts this year so we’re inclusive of every child’s reading ability….think e-stories, online stories, comic books etc.

All money raised is going towards Beeliar Primary School’s performing arts programme.
We have a number of exciting events happening for the remainder the week:
THURSDAY – Beeliar Book sale lunch time in the undercover area Yr 1-6; Reading Adventure! Don’t forget to bring your gold coins!
FRIDAY – Mrs Ford’s fantastical reading in the library at lunch time. All welcome.

98.5 Sonshine FM Broadcast

98.5 Sonshine FM will be broadcasting their breakfast show live from Beeliar Primary School this Friday 27 August from 7:30am.

Cultural Day

A reminder that we will be travelling to the Willagee site to get together for a whole school Cultural Day on Tuesday 31st August. If you have not already handed in your permission slip, can you please ensure this is done ASAP, thank you.

TA22 & TA2 – Reminders

Thank you to those who have already paid for their Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm incursion that is happening on Thursday 9th September. A reminder to please send in your payment details and permission slip ASAP if you have not already done so, thank you.

On Monday 20th September our TA2 and TA22 classes will be hosting assembly. More information will come home soon.

A reminder that the Beeliar Primary School Sports Carnival is being held on Thursday 16th September.

On Tuesday 17th August PP to Year 3 students enjoyed the Super Science Circus Show very much. There was much excitement in the undercover area as ‘Heidi Hoops’ wowed us all.

Read-a-thon & Book Week

The Beeliar Primary School P&C Readathon begins on Monday!!!

Reading logs to record books will be coming home this Friday. Multimodal texts such as comics, picture books, newspapers, e-books and online stories can all be recorded in your child’s reading log and count towards your child’s total number of books read.

Sponsors may like to donate an amount per book read, or a set amount. For every 5 books your child reads, they go in the draw to win prizes such as Scholastic prizes and Arc passes.

If you have any preloved books in good condition that you’d like to donate to our, please send them to school with your child this week. Student Councillors will be reselling these at the ‘Brilliant Bookstore’ each lunch time from Monday 23 until Friday 27. Prices of books are at a very discounted rate ranging from .20c – $2.00.

Thank you to everyone who purchased books at our recent Bookfair. Over $6000 was made giving our school a commission of nearly $2000 that we can now use to purchase library books and Literacy resources.

Remember! Our book character dress up parade is this Monday 23 August!

Science Expo – Thursday 19th August

Please see below the fun activities happening at the Science Expo this Thursday 19 August. The Expo runs from 5-7pm and is free. All welcome.

Cyber Safety Education Session – REMINDER – Thursday 26 August, 6:30pm

Protecting children in their digital worlds is an ever-evolving task for Australian families. Now more than ever parents are looking for guidance in how to manage screen time and navigate the world of games and social media.

We are therefore pleased to help our parent community by offering a crucial and engaging education session with ySafe, Australia’s leading provider of cyber safety education. This practical, strategy-rich session will cover the most important points that all families need to know about online safety, covering key information about social media and gaming, screen time recommendations and step-by-step instructions on how to set up a cyber safe home for kids of all ages.

If you’ve ever struggled with getting your kids off their games and into bed, worried about the content of the games that they are playing or felt concerned that your child was spending too much time in the digital world, this workshop is for you!

Beeliar News: Books, Bunnings & Science

Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is set up and started today in the Beeliar Library. Parents are welcome to attend the book fair with their child. It will be held on the following dates:

Wednesday 11th August – 8:30am-3:30 pm
Thursday 12th August – 8:30am – 3:30pm
Friday 13th August – 8:30am – 12.00pm

Your child will most probably bring home a ‘wish list’ of things they would like to buy. Please note you are not obliged to purchase any or all of the items on this wish list.

100 Days of School

Last Friday the Kindy and Pre-Primary children from TA22 celebrated their 100th day at school! The children came to school dressed as old people! They made a necklace out of 100 fruit loops and a head band saying they are now ‘100 days smarter’!

Bunnings Visit

On Monday 9th August Bunnings visited to help our students build a special Father’s Day surprise gift. A good time was had by all students, with the sound of hammering echoing through the classrooms and only a few sore thumbs. Here are some photos for Mum’s eyes only!

Super Science Show – reminder

A friendly reminder to those who are yet to pay for the Super Science Show next Tuesday 17th August. Please ensure your payment and permission slip are handed in to your child’s teacher as soon as possible, thank you.

READ-A-THON – 23 to 27 August

The Beeliar Primary School P&C Readathon is fast approaching! Our aim is to inspire all Beeliar children to read as much as they can!

Your child has been sent home with a sponsorship sheet. Sponsors can elect to donate an amount per book your child reads, or they may wish to sponsor a set amount.

The Readathon will be kicked off with our book character dress up parade at assembly on Monday the 23rd of August and we have a number of exciting events running throughout the week at school.
