When our child hurts themselves or is upset, we don’t want minimise or distract them from their feelings. This teaches them that we don’t really get it or aren’t interested in what they’re experiencing. The ‘Name it to Tame it’ strategy is based on accurately naming what a child or person is feeling. It’s about acknowledging these feelings and then coming up with a message or resilience as a response. Read this blog to learn more!

For some children, making friends can be really easy and they can be social with everyone! For others, it can be quite daunting to be open or talk to anyone. In this short video, Claire Orange talks about the formula for making friends.



It can be frustrating when we explain things over and over again to our children, but they continue to make the wrong decision. This video helps us to understand the parts of the brain that make decisions, and whether in fact our children are old enough to make the right decisions at all.
